Alert message sent 04/08/2018 14:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Cumbria Police

This is a message from Cumbria Police informing you of a spate of recent burglaries that have happened in the south Lakes area early yesterday morning Friday 3rd August 2018.

Six public houses/hotels have been broken into whereby offenders have made a large amount of damage to gain entry and have stolen safes, tills etc which have contained large amounts of money. Enquiries are currently ongoing to view CCTV and to identify the people responsible.

My message to you all is that please report any suspicious people/vehicles to Cumbria Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency. Also please look at your security of your business, please do not leave safe keys in money boxes right next to the safe, or till. Please bank your takings as often as you can, as we are in busy season the criminals know that you will have money on your premises so please put every measure in place to make it difficult for them to succeed.
