Information sent on behalf of Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch

Cumbria Neighbourhood Watch Association have strong links and work in partnership with ACTion with Communities which is the rural and community development charity for Cumbria who champion community and rural issues and support communities to:
  • Plan for the future
  • Develop Projects
  • Work with others
  • Influence and change policy
The following information comes from Jemma Metcalfe-Gibson, Neighbourliness Works Project Officer which I hope you will find both useful and informative.

‘Cumbria’s community response to the Covid-19 pandemic has been incredible and thank you so much for helping out your neighbours. Neighbourhood Watch are in a perfect position to help their neighbours. In our Autumn Gazette we celebrated the work of Greengate Street’s NHW group in Barrow; you can read about them here. They look out for their neighbours in many little ways which must be a great comfort to the local residents. We would love to hear about the neighbourly things you do too, or if you’d like some support in doing more for your neighbours, please do get in touch.

Greengate Street NHW are keen to link up with other NHW groups and relevant agencies to share ideas and information; ACT can help with this so if this is something you might be interested in, please let us know. As the weather turns, we wanted to highlight a few useful things that you can do yourself and encourage your neighbours to do too’
The attachment deals with the following topics:
  • Household Emergency Plans
  • Priority Services Registers (PSR)
  • Neighbourliness Works
  • Living Advent Calendar
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Quarantine Quilts
  • Kirkby Stephen Chatty Bench Walks
